I think the VST identifies it automatically as a DXI (or di.forgot) once it scans it The key is the EZDrummer.dll file that seems to be the plugin. (Program files/VSTfolder/EZDrummer.dll) Then when it scans the plugins it will be in there and you should see it in your Synth Rack once you've opened up Home Studio. What you'll be highlighting then is the VST folder where the DLL is. Click "Add" on the VST installer and look for EZDrummer.dll which is in the cakewalk VST folder (at least it was in mine). To get it to work in Cakewalk Home Studio open it up with the VST installer.
Enter the computer ID# at the toontrack site in the registration section of your profile and it will immediately generate the authorization code. Then when you go to to register you enter the name of your computer found in your "My Computer-System informaion" tab under "Computer Description" which you probably entered something like "Jim's Computer". Go to and type in your computer id and serial number, let it generate an authorization id, then paste this into the ezdrummer registration window.
Instead, being in a hurry to get this thing going as I have some important projects in the works I mistakenly entered the serial number that was on the back of the DVD case the program came in.
Apparently I needed to jump thru a bunck of hoops with the Toontracks site to authorize that I in fact bought the program.īut after reading more on this from the Toontracks site i realized I had to ask them to generate an authorization code after entering my computer ID number (which was supposedly generated first in the orange box within the window).
